So it begins…
I don't know how you see AVZs situation to be "working just fine" but maybe you see something I don't, what do I know? We're in a war where information is everything.
AVZ's tactics include silence so as to give the enemy nothing.
This is well established, indeed actions were taken to stem leaks.
Seems to be working just fine to me.
Maybe we should follow suit.
Thanks 9card.
What bollox that is! But it was to be expected hey.
The jist of the ICC request seems to rest on the assumption that the JV is terminated and the mine developement can not proceed, and it's all because of AVZ being evil corrupt wretches who are power hungry, uncooperative thieves!
Classic move really, accuse the others of doing all the dodgy shit you're doing.
However the emergency ICC ruling is that for the moment, the JV is still in effect.
I don't claim to understand a thing about legal processes, but as a layman, I would imagine this request can not be processed until the ICC case regarding the JV status is complete.
Also I can't imagine it going down too well in Kinshasa, that a government department is being funded and teaming up with a foreign business entity together in an international court. Complete conflict of interest, but it's the fkn DRC isn't it...
Fuck me I would kill for a really detailed update from the company.
Rumors of one coming soon right?
It does look like a bit of a desperate move, throwing everything but the kitchen sink at AVZ. Hope that's the way of the matter anyway.
AVZ have been making plenty of noise. Most of it through Christian Lukusa, Marius Mhigo, journalists and the NGO's. Documents supporting AVZ's claims have repeatedly found their way into the public domain and pretty much all of the facts are now known. We're in a war where information is everything.

The funny thing was Zijin’s lawyers were quoting and referencing AFR Tommy as gospel. Hi Tommy, who’s you source? Ms Chen Chen, Zijin Mining's in-house legal counsel. That’s what happens when you have no legal backings and it’s all about the he says/she says bullshit.don't worry ; Tommy will get it here and have it on the AFR shortly
Fair call Doc, have you asked @9cardomaha for a copy?Cloak and dagger stuff shits me. Been a holder since 2c. Own more shares then most here yet I’m not worthy of the English translation of the ICC documents.
Trolls have won in sowing discord.
Good luck all
I have very un ezy feelings about this china trip. Feels like I've put the kids in the play pen with a knife block full of my sharpest knives.
I know what you mean.I have very un ezy feelings about this china trip. Feels like I've put the kids in the play pen with a knife block full of my sharpest knives.
I hope so mate cheers.I know what you mean.
The thing is he doesn't need to go to china to screw over AVZ if he wanted to.
And china don't need to meet in person to offer bribes.
I think we're all imagining them getting together for poker, getting loaded and laughing about old times, then they bring in the girls. Afterwards throw an arm around a jolly DRC president and smiling with a fat brown paper bag offered say, "so how about that silly old mine in Manono?"
They're a major partner with the DRC with business and all that, a trip there is completely normal.
Keep this in mind, a major part of the visit is in regards to the predatory deals china has in the DRC mining sector, and all that negative attention is good for us non chinese who have offered everything above board, and fair.
In the midst of this diplomacy and renegotiation with respect to china not doing the right thing, imagine them offering more bribes for Manono!
It wouldn't go down too well.
They are welcome to take Manono legaly at a fair price, if they want the thing at all costs, there is always that.
No doubt they will apply pressure to get what they want, and that's what they've been doing in the past to get the mining deals that favor them.
It's possible he might even be asking them to tell Z to back off so they can get this thing into operation.
His ministers are implicated in this corruption with Z, and China are likely holding them to the fire over this.
I believe it's in Felix's best interest to negotiate a way for them to back off.
Screwing over AVZ will be very bad for them, particularly with the USA suddenly in the picture.
Actually that makes me think, part of the visit would be diplomacy about the USA entering into the DRC, as china would be spewin' about that.
It all needs to be smoothed over form the perspective of the DRC.
I would imagine.
Mate, all the reciprocal briefings and negotiations will be done well ahead of time, and the meeting with Xi Jinping will be the usual reinforcement of trade ties and a smiley photo opportunity. If Manono is on the agenda, its already decided.I have very un ezy feelings about this china trip. Feels like I've put the kids in the play pen with a knife block full of my sharpest knives.
