Trouble is, ....................... their won"t be any european engineering/design in 5-10yrs.European engineering/design over USA nonsense any day of the week.

Already there are European car makers teaming up with the Chinese car makers, as the Chinese can build electric cars at scale and they will just put a VW/BMW/MERCEDES badge on them.
The current USA Auto Giants are basically in the same boat, ........................Ford, GM, Stellantis are all looking down the barrel of bankruptsy and who are now having union strikes, wanting 30-40% higher pay plus medical plus 4 day work week................. a recipe for bankruptsy.
( of course the US Fed will keep bailing them out, as they are "too big to fail" ) OH, but theres one "NO NONSENSE , USA CAR MANUFACTURER" that is producing at scale, PLUS ..................... IRA ( inflation reduction act ) kicks in Jan 1st 2024, immediate $7500 straight off the purchase price of a new EV in the US, plus other state incentives.
.................... FSD ( full self driving ) like with the NACS ( North American Charging Standard ) developed by Tesla, that many other OEMs have adopted, i can"t wait til other OEMs license this tech from Tesla.

These findings are not directly related to BRN, and I'm not suggesting any direct relationship. However, I came across some recent discoveries from Japan through one of their journal publication websites, which translates into English.
1 - Sticking with the recent space sector theme.
FUKUDA Seisuke (u-tokyo.ac.jp)
2- Both authors have 20 years service and are employed by Hitachi Ltd in the Research and Development Group. I like how they emphasise that the SNN model consumed only 1/130th of the power compared to the GPU-based alternative approach.

I located the complete article for the second one, and it's Loihi, which is disappointing because Hitachi is an IP partner of Renesas, and Renesas itself was a spin off company created by Hitachi and Mitsubishi back in the day.

Don't be too disheartened as the original manuscript is now almost 12 months old and the latest reference they used was May 2021 with most other references being years earlier.
BRN has come a long way since then and my understanding is Loihi is still being developed.
