Any amicable negotiations with DRC gives us leverage and increases the value of the project. Therefore It is possible that Kobold is also playing its part to screw us over.
If the minerals deal with the US is signed in the next week as suggested, and litigation continues then I believe it’s time NF provides SH with the exact price that Kobold is offering and then put it to a vote.

Enough is enough.

Felix knows exactly what's going on . He's a Chinese puppet .The fact the DRC refused to even engage with us is telling . Stall tactics from day one .

They only take action when they are strong armed into it, whatever has gone on, once the peace deal is signed there'll be some serious strong arming going on and they'll do what they're told to do! Imo

I thought ICSID was suspended until the 23rd therefore would have resumed on 23rd and the case gets underway. No mention of actual resumption date.
If DRC are not going to communicate with us we should refuse to communicate with them in the interim period.
Full bore ICSID and expose them to the world for all to see, Chinese too.
Enough is enough. Let the hearings expose them and other countries and companies have second thoughts about doing business in the DRC. Only people it’s going to hurt is the corrupt ones, God knows nothing trickles down to the people in this corrupt, bankrupt shithole of a Country.

Wait until the peace deal is signed.

This outcome may have been expected by management, this could just be strategy.
We're waiting for the peace agreement anyway, why not show good faith and suspend proceedings for a month.
Now the DRC look bad, and AVZ look better.

Once the Peace deal is done, if the DRC do not comply, the USA will lean on them, and I actually expect we will get our outcome as a result then.

Who is Avenger and what is their track record on predictions? Why and how do they speak with such confidence?
I am sorry to say, but AVENGER is a pumper, much like ANATOL.........lots of hot air.

Avenger was continuously bullish on WFE, of which i was a share holder too......

As we all know, WFE turned into moth balls.

Take his opinion with a grain of salt.

imo

I agree with this. I mean, the deal is minerals for security right - we are the minerals - so without getting the AVZ deal sorted surely there’s no deal? This will get over the line. Not long to wait til next week after signing Friday. Let’s just keep cool for a few more weeks and see what plays out.
Clever wording by saying DRC isn’t engaging in negotiations - we’re doing the right thing by saying ‘well ICSID is going ahead then’, but I’m sure Nige is hoping that we can cut a deal. He needs to show we have the balls to see this through.

One thing I'm not understanding is the relationship between the details of this announcement and Felix' need to engage the US for protection and support against the rebels. He was evidently pleading to engage with the US for the purposes of signing the peace agreement which as we know has to have something in it for the US (i.e. the critical minerals aspect) - otherwise what is the point of the deal from the US perspective...

Once the deal is signed, I find it difficult to imagine that reneging or deviation from the US's strategy (which the DRC must have been agreed with to even make it to the point of signing) would be allowed to let slip by the US without consequence. There's still the chance that as mentioned above, the DRC are still engaging but with Kobold instead of AVZ.

On the other hand, the DRC government have proven themselves to be fools without logic or reason so maybe they plainly do not give a crap about US consequences.

Drc didn’t come to the party :/
Just further proof that FT is absolutely the most incompetent, disgraceful, disrespectful , corrupt president that ever lived.

More evidence he doesnt give a flying fuck about his people .

Throws shade as to whether the peace deal has anything to do with Kobold / Manono, assuming a deal is done, which going by FT track record, one cant assume anything.

Good move on Nigels part to resume ICSID proceedings.

Time to apply the blow torch !

Seems pretty clear the DRC aren't interested in any negotiations directly with AVZ thus far....and despite their atrociously corrupt behaviour from the word go, I can't help but feel the campaign of social media insults and derogatory comments (however understandably emotionally frayed shareholders might be) hasn't/doesn't help our corner in this regard. It has/can be potentially twisted by our global detractors (likely involving them regularly planting such comments on social media to keep the pot boiling) with the easily applied, even if unjustified, racial connotations, given the history of colonialism and global sensitivities.

Not justifying or excusing the behaviour of those involved against us in any way, shape or form, but that sort of commentary may have been playing into the hands of said detractors and getting the backs up of those we may now need on-side in the DRC ( I'm aware how ridiculous that sounds given what we've endured and it makes my backside tingle with anger even typing it).

Nigel has been clear to publically distance the official AVZ stance from such derogatory commentary and I belive it's for very good reason. I'd urge people not to further the campaign of hateful and insulting social media mud-slinging at this stage, in order to give this process of US intervention in the region the best possible chance of returning a result that's also very much in our favour.

Raising valid issues with firm but factual information and commentary, while allowing the board to unwaiveringly follow the due international legal process, has surely got to be putting our best foot forwards at this stage.....with the hope that it all becomes obsolete following successful US involvement in the region and a fair and reasonable outcome for all long-suffering AVZ shareholders.

Just a hurried 2c worth while reeling from the fact that, even when offered a bone to be able to come out of this without further looking like the corrupt charlatans they are to global investors, the DRC officials have yet to show signs of good faith...at least publically.

The ICSID case is being covered by China on DRCs side, so this is just another delay tactic in their back pocket. Glad that it is the last one they can use our good faith for and now we go full steam ahead.

As many have said, part of the US deal is for critical minerals and there's clauses in the deal regarding corruption and cleaning their act up. There's 0 chance that the US agree to a peace deal while also letting this court case run out the full length if Kobold want to purchase it.

The Chinese might want RD locked up forever, but the US certainly don't. They want their hands on it ASAP just listen to the giddy attitude coming out of kobold interviews. Another piece of the puzzle has fallen into place (albeit not a pretty one this time) but I have no doubt it won't change the final outcome IMO

Was it cominiere or one of the other corrupt clownshows that released a statement saying Kobold should only be speaking to them and without delay, with regard to manono?

They obviously would like to think they can sell it themselves and have a big Rolex party and that avz will somehow just dissappear. Not going to happen, and thank God kobold did all those interviews wanking on about manono and avz and signed the agreement or I'd be sweating an awful lot more.

And this is why this site is needed. I think the commentary this morning has managed, in the space of about 2 hours, to go through the entire cycle of grief..........

Not hugely surprised by this. There's not much reason for the DRC to talk to AVZ prior to the peace deal being signed - quite the opposite in fact. And Nigel had no option but to resume the legal case in the interim.

If all goes well, shouldn't be long to wait. Reportedly, the terms for the peace deal have been agreed with it to be signed in the next week.

Following the peace deal, the DRC will have to honour the agreement to allow the USA access to minerals in return for the peace deal.

After the peace deal is signed Kobold, AVZ and the DRC should start on the paperwork for a mining licence to be granted to Kobold, with AVZ to drop the legal case and receive compensation from Kobold. (Hopefully there will also be a Capital Gains Tax waiver from the DRC as part of the deal.)

At some stage after the peace deal is signed I'd expect an announcement from AVZ that they are working on a deal with Kobold and the DRC.

That said, there is still some potential for Chinese or DRC skull-duggery. But the potential is low given the USA's involvement and Felix's desire for security via the peace deal. The Chinese will probably be happy that Zijin keeps the North. I think AVZ and Kobold have probably already agreed the broad terms and price of their part of the deal. The DRC should be happy to see Manono developed and the legal case settled.

It'll b a neat solution if it all comes off at a decent price (at least $1 AUD per share).

Leopards dont change their spots.

We were all lauding FT as a saviour to DRC just prior to the ML decree...remember ?

Yet what happened ?

Dont get me wrong, racially , insulting ,filthy behaviour on socials is not cool, but calling them a CUNT ....welli am ok with that.

Cause its true.
