You need to qualify the exchange rate in your calculations.

You appear to be using USD$1 = AUD$0.625. I think that's very generous. A more realistic value to calculate with would 0.67 or higher.

More to the M23 SAGA...imo

M23 will likely remain in the talks to buy time to consolidate control over occupied areas in the eastern DRC. M23 has expanded its well-organized parallel administration in the eastern DRC and largely replaced the DRC government since late February.[25] Staying in the talks gives M23 and Rwanda time to gain even greater leverage by consolidating stronger de facto control over occupied areas.

Not quite how I see it…! M23 playing the usual game, but the PRESSURE is mounting…!
They might look in control but the CRACKS are showing — regional forces circling, diplomacy heating…!
Can only buy time for so long before the table FLIPS…!

I am over 40, I grew up without the Internet and the whole 'group think', comment for likes mentality. I only come here to find out things I don't know and get different perspectives, not affirmation and echos.

Back on point though, https://x.com/matt_fernley/status/1953352302141550957, even mainstream view points are we are off the bottom of the cycle (my watch list is mostly green again now too). So either Kobold (or other negotiating parties Nigel Mentioned in the last announcement), thinks longterm and prices in future value or we just keep going through arbitration till the value we see matches what others are willing to pay.

Given the true value of the project, the long-term earning potential, and kobolds status as relatively new entrant to mining, I would expect the final deal to also include additional forms of compensation eg royalties on top of an acceptable buyout price.

It's also interesting that every time we get a 'leaked' price indication, it goes up.

Skar, I don't think the significance of the statement in this article is appreciated. If true is seems the terms of a JV between Kobold & DRC have been finalised and the only thing holding up a payout for us all is a negotiated 'fair' price to piss off. A resolution therefore must be AOON!
Perhaps this has been discussed in further fruitfulness in the 'private group' whereas here everyone appears too busy indulging the egos of idiots by responding to them. GLTAH

Potential stupid question alert - this seems to be assuming AVZ only portion of project (should be 75%) is worth that, so on these maths the total project is inferred to be worth 25% more?
Trying to figure out if the total project is sold for (using whole numbers for example purposes only here ) $5bn AUD , then shareholders only get 75% of that? Cheers
