One would think the timing of this is not a coincidence.

Now the 13359 suddenly changes to Cominiere just before the close down. There are many people in DRC who are working with the Chinese to steal the project. There is no doubt. The question is whether this latest move is:

- minister of mines ordering an investigation/audit etc and Cominiere/Zijin/Mupande making a last ditch attempt to switch things over before the lock down

or

- minister of mines is involved in this plan to steal the project.


I hope it is the first option, but I think this may be wishful thinking. I look at the Minister of Mines previous behaviour. She cancelled the previous decrees citing the exact complaints of Cominiere as the reason. This makes me think it is probable that she is cooperating with Cominiere and the other corrupt individuals in DRC.


Unfortunately this may take years and years to go through ICC and AVZ may have to take DRC and Zijin to ICC to recover damages.

There just seems to be very few honest, intelligent people in the DRC. CAMI/Mupande, Cominiere, Minister of Portfolio, Minister of Mines etc all seem to be working together with China to rip off AVZ and their own people.

I think there is a reason why most of Africa is incredibly poor and will likely continue to be for many more decades, despite the existence of billions of $$$ of natural resources.

Hopefully we hear something more with the AVZ announcements and/or the DRC meeting on 12/5.

Yes would be interesting to see what those dogs are looking to bring a case up against AVZ ; We all know that disagreements go through a process with the JV ( number of days working it out) , before they are required to be resolved through ICC ; cominiere obviously ignored the ICC term and aimed to go through some brown bag piloted court in lumbumbashi to get the JVA for the 15% knocked.

Zijin likely didn't want to go to ICC; reasoning for delay was conflict of schedule....3 arbitrators..likely zijin got to one of them lmo considering these cases are known months in advance ; so conflict of schedule sounds lame .

ICC case gets delayed; most likely rooted back to zijin as the clock counted down to case day and they knew they’d have little chance ; put the pin into cominiere to cancel JVA and get it done through brown bag court just like they had previously done without AVZ even been present ; AVZ emergence arbitration lodged and pipped cominiere. Seems like cominieres tacked is to get into a dodgy court and get a dodgy decision over the line which then takes time to rectify

The concern for me, is the time it takes to get these arbitration cases to get processed....if there was a faster court other than in the liked of lumbumbashi with a straight judge is welcome that but this is terms would likely prevent ( your second highlighted line) , but ye having icc in the contract terms has obviously had its advantages, but slow as fuck ; Cominieres bank balance certainly isn't in a healthy state and legal fees could quickly clear them out...whats the betting on zijin passing envelopes under the table to weather such fees

Managed to get through to the AVZ team. I only spoke to the admin lady however was advised they are aware of change on the cami website and will release an ann shortly.
No real indication so hopefully just a matter of more pathetic games.

As per my previous post, given the minister of mines' previous actions where she cancelled the decree based on Cominiere's complaints it is certainly possible that she is involved in this latest move, although I hope it is not the case.

You can say someone is morally bankrupt as much as you like

I think she was nudging it away from the hot potato political to the legal, which is where it is at now, and then make some executive political decisions. Could be this happens after election where FT would want more mandate to bring in the West. But I think the West was heading back to Congo before election. I think the US realised it made a strategic mistake
