AVZ Discussion 2022

Yeah, ultimately that maybe the case, but fark me, 16 months ?

He has allowed the termites to eat in the inner sanctum to the point of ridicule and condemnation on a global scale, massive damage has been done on multiple levels.

If i was President of the DRC and was following the mandate of quelling corruption
.........

That would be the action of a strong leader who has his country best interests at heart......but alas.

That is my point. I suspect Felix is another in a long line.
Looking out for number one.

I don't see him starving or suffering financially.
And we've already established shame and embarrassment aren't emotions felt by those at the top in the DRC, as long as they get their snacks.

IMO, Felix will do the bare minimum to appear to be dealing with graft to get re-elected while minimising fallout and upsetting the apple cart.
Actioning the IGF report makes too much mess and collateral damage.

Not sure what thats all about.
Not listed under Dathcom in the portal, and they're all over the shop. 2 of which cant be found.
Bit of a random post from Kiki.
They're the bunch of tenements that Dathcom use to own, then were sold for some reason. Can be found in 2018 Annual report, then disappear in 2019 report, theres probably some announcement between them, idk.

“Violation of the Mining Code in the DRC: LICOCO calls for the withdrawal of mining titles from offending companies!”

17 September 2023

Title: LICOCO requests the withdrawal of mining titles due to non-compliance with the Mining Code by mining companies

Introduction :

The Congolese Anti-Corruption League (LICOCO) recently denounced the non-compliance with the provisions of the Mining Code by certain mining companies in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). These companies, including Stone Mining Compagny Sarl, CDMC Sarl, AMUR Sarl and DF SA Mining Congo, entered into agreements with the mining company SAKIMA, but did not respect the obligations stipulated in these contracts. Consequently, LICOCO requests the pure and simple withdrawal of the mining titles granted to these companies.

Failure to comply with the obligations of the Mining Code:

According to LICOCO, these four mining companies failed to respect several obligations set out in the Mining Code and the mining regulations of the DRC. Among other things, they did not enter into negotiations with local communities, did not sign the social responsibility specifications, and did not carry out the necessary technical and financial feasibility studies. In addition, the operating areas that had been transferred to them by SAKIMA are inactive or occupied by artisanal mining operators, thus having serious consequences for the sustainable development of the region.

LICOCO’s recommendations:

Faced with this situation, LICOCO supports the government’s initiative to withdraw the mining titles allocated to these four companies. However, it recommends that this decision be taken through a commission set up by the Ministry of Mines, in order to evaluate the contracts of each company and officially inform them of the withdrawal of their mining titles. In addition, LICOCO encourages the government to grant these mining titles to other companies that demonstrate the technical and financial capacity necessary to develop industrial mines, thus contributing to the sustainable development of the Kivu region.

The call to civil society:

LICOCO also calls on civil society organizations to support this government initiative to request the revocation of the mining titles of companies that have not respected their environmental and social obligations, in accordance with the provisions of the Mining Code.

Conclusion :

The request for withdrawal of mining titles made by LICOCO highlights the non-compliance with the obligations of the Mining Code by certain mining companies in the DRC. This situation highlights the importance of ensuring compliance with mining regulations, in order to preserve the interests of local communities and promote sustainable development in the Congolese mining sector. It is therefore crucial that the government takes measures to rectify this situation and ensure that the country’s mineral resources are exploited responsibly and equitably.

The IGF report found Cominiere in violation of the Mining Code with respect to Transfer of mining licences (amongst other things) as opposed to environmental and social breaches mentioned in the article above, so hopefully Licoco addressed these when reviewing Cominiere.

I looked at this early last year, being the suspicious prick I am. Nobody could assist with any follow-up detail, so it just died on the vine

Names showing on CAMI as tenement holders now are HK Excellen Mining Congo SARL, COMINIERE and HK Yisen, and 2 have gone entirely

The HK names are chinese and Excellen is in JV with GECAMINES, say no more

I suspect these 'disappeared' off our tenement list due to Cong flicking them on, perhaps in cohorts with Jerkfuck from under our nose, but I don't know, and I also don't know if DATHCOM received any money for them. There is no cause for AVZ to receive payment, so nothing in the accounts to assist with a trail. BUT at the very least, I would have thought a note to the accounts explaining the movement might have been helpful

perhaps Kiki wants answers now too, as it smells a little off

I’ve got 700,000 reasons to see AVZ succeed.

If anyone from MMGA wants to convince me why they need a board seat and/or could do a better job, feel free to call me.

Aha, sitting right in front of me. Maybe wasn't focussed on those tenements at the time. So, basically suspicions are correct - Cominiere and Cong have sold family jewels? Shame that Jules can't name the parties directly involved

The EU passed the legislation re critical raw materials on Thursday night... forming partnerships with third party countries for materials was within it... just a summary here, not a great deal yet...

For me this is the week. I speculated months ago that this conference could be the ‘platform ‘ where we hear news. No news this week then I’d say we headed for the courts unfortunately.

Wonder how the forum plays out and what Serge will talk about if nothing is announced. May need 5 mins to talk and 90 mins for Q&A. Maybe Serge will publicly ask Felix wen ML like last time.

Pretty sure we aren't headed for the courts even if it doesn't eventuate this week.
I think it might be happening this week, but I'm not sure of anything anymore. The DRC are just slow and useless.

Really appreciate the updates you and others give in regards to winks and nods etc but I can’t help but wonder if we all being played for fools. Not one wink or nod in 12+ months have actually eventuated into something of significance.
Maybe I’m just old, cranky and cynical but it’s almost like people in DRC are providing false hope perhaps hoping AVZ didn’t go further with courts proceedings etc while we get stabbed in the back.
Anyways enough doom and gloom from me. Could be a big week!!

100% mate, I've thought the same. What pulls be back though is seeing the change at CAMI and our meeting at last, Com changing their tune about AVZ's ownership, the pressure the court cases have put on the DRC.
I feel confident that at the least we've got a good outcome (if not wonderful), it's just a matter of when.
May wealth once again grace us all! :)

Agree the removal of Mupande was significant.
The snakes head was crushed.
Opens the door for surface rights to be issued on all of 13359.
Can FT ask for ML to be issued without the direction and findings of ICC result ?

Believe Felix is incentivised TO issue the ML urgently to avoid ICC proceedings happening in the first place.

God it takes so long to get any work done over there, not conducive for companies floating on an exchange at all
