AVZ Discussion 2022

Thats a bit of a read.

Anyway

Bit of education needed. With all the ICSID and ICC orders, if (when) they find in AVZ's favor. Will the DRC be able to sell the lithium if they choose to continue to ignore all the ICSID and ICC orders?

That is even if the DRC wanted to sell the lithium would they be able to ship or transport it out of the country?
i.e the countries surrounding Manono are all signitures with the ICSID (or is it world bank?), would they block the transport of the lithium?

If you get the gist of what im trying to understand.
I can remember reading something about this ages ago?

People give the board shit, but their legal chess game has been a masterclass..... Despite DRC and Chinese companies not adhering to the orders 😂
Yeah but what happens after that ? We all get paid out $2 a share and bugger off ?

What a nightmare trying to mine this 😱

What should have been simple if grubby hands were grease has become Hard enough just to get to this stage playing via the code.

Ahhh Keep up the good fight AVZ as we have come this far but Fuxk me what a headache the DRC is..

Really wonder what the DRC's endgame is (if they even have a plan that far ahead - might be incapable of it). Everything they continue to keep doing only increases our leverage at the negotiation table, it's almost like they actually think they'll come out the end of this as a winner, maybe they are fully convinced from Chinese whispers that we will go bankrupt and they won't have to deal with us? It sounds like they have a committee to look at the potential risks of losing the entire case....

@Carlos Danger do you know if by them continually disregarding interim orders, will this further increase the final damages claim - or because they're mounting a defence for their decisions to ignore interim orders (even after being told a second time) does that mean they can get away with the stalling without any further repercussions?
Endgame imo is planning on/making AVZ run out of money so this all goes away quietly, they take their bribes, AVZ gone, and China and corrupt DRC officials are happy, and they don't face the full level of global scrutiny and exposure for their corrupt thievery that they will if the arbitration cases go all the way. DRC has the same lawyers as Zijin apparently? No doubt doing the bidding of CCP and corrupt DRC officials.
This is why they cried foul at criticism from AVZ shareholders on social media. They don't want the exposure of their actions, so they deflect and make out that it's AVZ that's the problem and not them. With this announcement you see AVZ now showing more information and exposing the DRC's non-compliance and corruption. DRC wanted the details of engagements with AVZ all kept private so their actions won't be exposed imo, and AVZ was obliging thinking that they'd get a deal done soon. AVZ now publishing more info says (potentially) gloves are off and we'll expose your corruption if you choose to not comply with ICSID rulings and settle this amicably.
All IMO

Fully backing the board. This corruption from the DRC has been utterly fucking disgraceful. If they want to back the utter sociopathic scum that is Cominiere and Zijin at the expense their own people and an improved business climate that they've been parading around for the last several years then expose them to the world.
The Manono Project is the work of AVZ/Dathcom. Period. You can't just fucking let it be stolen and expect no consequences, DRC.
Time to get a deal done, settle amicably as AVZ/Dathcom wish to.

The legal moves seem good but do we have any cash, or have we been bled out now?

"I bring to your particular attention that at the request of the company AVZ, the parties have agreed to settle the dispute amicably. "

"From preliminary observations, it appears that the AVZ's claims, as formulated in the said project, are disadvantageous for the Republic where the defence team has recommended the continuation of the arbitration as long as AVZ does not diminish its ambitions."

So if the DRC want to settle this dispute amicably surely they have made an offer ?

Is there enough wiggle room there for some compromising from either side ?

Wombat,

AVZ should not be compromising at all - what the DRC considers fair would be paramount to theft I suspect.

I would prefer this to be settled sooner than later, however I am also happy to go the full hog and wait for the ICSID & ICC outcomes.

Stumbled onto 4 Corners ABC last night. Story on China and their desire for minerals and Lithium got a fair run. CATL mentioned several times but it showed the lengths China is prepared to go to dominate World supply and what it controls currently.
Available on iView, maybe of some interest.

Agreed. After everything we've endured I don't think China deserves any reward for their part in all this. They weasled their way in under dubious circumstances. No way should we be throwing them a bone to make up for what they are missing out on.

I'm happy to wait for all this to play out purely on principle. I understand some aren't in a position to wait, but unfortunately that's the risks of investing in some Countries.

China needs to pay a fucking fair price one way or another. DRC would be absolute stupid to let themselves foot the bill.
If AVZ sells this asset we know DRC gets something like 30%. Dumb fucks.

Yes - the DRC will not want further rulings handed down by the ICC and ICSID that comes with a premium lets also add Pain & Suffering / Damages / Loss of Income / Interest Expense to name a few - I am flexible.

When you just read the announcements and have some faith, a warm feeling of hope washes over. It’s hard to hold onto. One thing I’d like to understand is how much time do we really have until we have to close up shop?

I’m pretty sure there are enough positive shareholders that would consider funding at an attractive price ($4000 x 5000 shareholders is $20 million )…. Price of shares ….(?). Any thoughts…I would consider

I share your feeling and thought. I reckon the announcement details would be the one-on-one updates as mentioned in the recent share holders emailed letter if it's legit. I would take part in the company fund raising to see the fight to the end. Well at least we have to fight to protect our asset and investment and of course we have a limit. Each to their own, IMO.
