AVZ Discussion 2022

Kinshasa is currently on a push to attract new players to the sector and talks are already under way with Washington after a Congolese senator pitching a minerals-for-security deal contacted U.S. officials.

Asked by Reuters on Monday about possible interest in Congolese minerals, Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Prevot said Belgium had firms with the know-how to ramp up its role in the sector.

“We have globally recognised expertise with players like Umicore and John Cockerill, who have the capacity to process all these rare critical materials,” he said.

“If one day the opportunity arises to also be an investment partner, we will not pull back,” he added.

DRC-USA: Félix Tshisekedi expected in Washington to finalize the partnership with the Trump administration

IMG-20250429-WA0002.jpg

The Congolese Head of State, Félix Tshisekedi is expected in Washington this Thursday, May 1, 2025 for the confirmation and finalization of the DRC-USA partnership, after its validation by the Oval Office.

This is indicated by a press release published on Tuesday, April 29 by the US Department of State in charge of African affairs, which evokes a decisive turning point in what it describes as the "agreement of the century".

This partnership provides for the exploitation of mineral resources in the Democratic Republic of Congo in return for securing the east of the country, as well as a massive investment in infrastructure, estimated at nearly US$500 billion over a period of 15 years.

If the forces close to the power of Kinshasa are already welcoming this agreement, some voices of the opposition and civil society call on Félix Tshisekedi's regime to be cautious, in order to avoid selling out national wealth in a logic of remaining in power.

I hope this is the final catalyst for Kobold or anyone interested to start putting serious offers in. Once this is signed you’d think that buying Manono off AVZ is significantly derisked so let the genuine offers roll in. ICSID is a good negotiating stick to have but personally would rather not go through years and years of trying to get money from a broke nation.
Fingers crossed things about to get serious

"Big news out of DRC soon"
Kobold mentioned "TO GO BIG in the DRC"
Now Felix goes to US final signing minerals for security.
Co incident that both Kobold and Trump use BIG
or deal has already been made and the final
missing item action is
Mining licence awarded to AVZ.
That will be" BIG news"

There’s clearly a lot of upside with the potential Kobold/Rio deal. The only downside, however, stems from heavy U.S. involvement and let’s be honest, their primary motivation is to shut out the Chinese, who would otherwise be the main competition.

As a result, we’re going to be locked out of sparking a true bidding war with other international players (Chinese) with our only path of receiving the ML to get an exit as a result of the much bigger US/DRC security and minerals deal.

We can only hope that their comments of 'Fair compensation' for AVZ takes into consideration we would be blocked from sounding a true market value.

See this is what is so perplexing about Kobold advocating to not antagonise China and allowing them to illegally keep the north as part of any deal.

That said, Amazon just fired a MASSIVE salvo at the Trump admin by listing Tarriff uplift separately, so who knows where/what will happen. I think forcing China to play nice/fair is fine but agree antagonising them is silly. More money to be made playing nicely (as long as China can be kept from bribery/cheating/stealing).

Still radio silence from the Chinese...the shit-eating rodents have to be up to something.

They're always up to something.

They have history, and I can't see them being satisfied with just CDL. It's not in their nature to share or be satisfied with half a resource. They always want it all, and will stop at nothing to get it.

I also can't see them working alongside the yanks at Manono and happily sharing electrical power from the Mpiana-Mwanga Hydroelectric Power Station, or processing facilities that convert spodumene into Li hydroxide (or carbonate) or loading and transport facilities.

The US and DRC are expected to sign a minerals-for-security agreement tomorrow, which gives the US preferential access to DRC minerals, and still not a peep from the world's rodents.

DRC-US Strategic Partnership:
Félix Tshisekedi Expected in Washington This Thursday

President Félix Tshisekedi will travel to Washington this Thursday, May 1, 2025, to finalize the DRC-US Strategic Partnership, following the agreement's recent approval by the White House.

According to a statement released Tuesday, April 29, by the U.S. Department of State for African Affairs, this agreement, dubbed the "deal of the century," marks a major milestone in relations between the DRC and the United States. 🙏

This ambitious partnership provides for the exploitation of Congolese mineral resources in exchange for a U.S. commitment to secure the country's eastern region.

Furthermore, it includes a massive investment in Congolese infrastructure, estimated at nearly $500 billion over fifteen years.

While the government in Kinshasa welcomes this cooperation, some members of the opposition and civil society actors are calling for vigilance.

They warn of the risk that this agreement will only serve to consolidate the current regime at the expense of national interests.

The Trump administration, a key ally of the Tshisekedi regime

Last Friday, under the auspices of the United States, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda signed a "declaration of principles" for an agreement aimed at promoting peace and economic development in the Great Lakes region, while ending the conflict ravaging eastern DRC.

Is it obvious to anyone but me that Kobold will back AVZ lawsuits to regain the North? Yes the US says they will not antagonise China but they don't have to. Just maximise the impact of the upcoming verdict. We regain control. USA buys.

This song keeps going in my head.....

Count me in, and I will fly over from Perth and drink it there ... plus eat some nice food while there. Probably start with a dozen Oysters Kilpatrik and follow with a steak cooked over the coals, etc.

We all know that the price of lithium is on the bottom with high possibility to recover in the next years...probably around that time when production starts at Manono. Talking about tin...its a bit of a different story...

Thanks Mute 22 for the article...
Now lets have a look at AVZ Defiantly Feasibility Study DFS from 21 April 2020...

AVZ suggested a selling price of 10.000 $
Screenshot 2025-04-30 at 21.52.46.png

Screenshot 2025-04-30 at 22.00.26.png

As today the price of Tin is 32000 US$....that would be a LOM of around 2 Billion US$ alone....while the tin price forecast for the next years could reach easy up to 100.000 US$.
The Tin alone would cover half of a nice big fat buy out cheque....what you reckon?
