Well it seems it's all stalled again.
Kagame has infiltrated talks and there is quite a hurdle to overcome before any money exchanges hands between AVZ and the successful party, IF AT ALL..
That's right.. it's back to the drawing board from face value, hopefully I'm wrong.
For those following the various X posts about prices being bantered around on what it's all worth versus what we'll be compensated for, there's a method to the madness.. At the moment, it's cents on the dollar and the chances of going higher is difficult to navigate.
The ICSID path although the correct way forward, won't extract any better value that what it's legitimately worth. There's no way the DRC can or will pay it. If Kobold don't end up buying it and the peace talks fall over, some other country is coming under the table ready to go.
My other concern is the recent public language used by CAMI about retracting of mining rights being issued. Wonder if the weasels will work out a way to screw around with Manono, it's tailings and the surrounding exploration licenses...

Aug 21 is still critical.
What a shitshow
What is the’hurdle’ you are referring to?

Rebels armed with machetes kill at least 52 in eastern Congo

By Reuters

August 18, 2025 6:06 PM UTC · Updated ago

KINSHASA, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Islamic State-backed rebels armed with machetes and hoes have killed at least 52 civilians in the Beni and Lubero areas of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo in recent days, UN and local officials said.

The Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebels were taking revenge on civilians after suffering defeats by Congolese forces, Lieutenant Elongo Kyondwa Marc, a regional Congolese army spokesperson, said.

"When they arrived, they first woke the residents, gathered them in one place, tied them up with ropes, and then began to massacre them with machetes and hoes," Macaire Sivikunula, chief of Lubero's Bapere sector, told Reuters over the weekend.

About 30 civilians were killed in the village of Melia alone, Alain Kiwewe, a military administrator for the Lubero territory, told Reuters.

"Among the victims were children and women whose throats were slit in their homes, while several houses were set on fire," he said.

The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) condemned "in the strongest possible terms" the attacks by the ADF between August 9 and 16, the mission's spokesperson said on Monday.

The attacks killed at least 52 civilians, including eight women and two children, and the toll could rise as the search is ongoing, the spokesperson said.

The ADF is among several militias wrangling over land and resources in Congo's mineral-rich east.

Congo's army and its ally, Uganda, have intensified operations against the ADF in recent weeks.

In late July, ADF rebels killed 38 people in an attack on a church in eastern Congo.

And there's this...

Congo and M23 rebels miss deadline to reach Doha peace deal

Reuters, August 18, 2025 4:20 PM

KINSHASA, Aug 18 (Reuters) - The Congolese government and M23 rebels have missed Monday's deadline to reach a peace agreement in Doha, raising fears that tensions between the two parties might derail talks and reverse progress made to end the conflict.

Fighting in eastern Congo has intensified this year, with the M23 group launching an offensive that allowed it to capture the two largest cities in the region.

Under a mediation effort hosted by Qatar, Congo and the rebels signed a declaration of principles on July 19 in which they vowed to start negotiating a deal no later than August 8 with the goal of reaching it by August 18.

The AFC-M23 Movement said in a statement on Sunday that only the full implementation of the declaration of principles, which includes the release of prisoners, would enable the next round of talks to proceed.

A senior AFC source said on Monday that while rebels didn't expect significant progress from the talks, they would send a small delegation in the coming days due to Qatar's pressure as negotiators.

"Our delegation will simply reinforce the need to implement these measures before we can engage in negotiations," the source said.

A governmental source said authorities had received a draft agreement from the mediation team, and both parties are working on their comments before delegates return to Doha later this week.

It added that the release of prisoners is a complicated prerequisite because it can be a subject of negotiations rather than a condition to continue talks.

A Qatari official told Reuters on Sunday that while the timeline outlined in the declaration of principles had not been met, both parties expressed a willingness to continue negotiations.

Holders, take comfort in the AVZ tight ship that has seen deafening silence since Nige’s The Australian advertorial - negotiations are no doubt ongoing.

Haven’t seen it mentioned here yet, but the US-DRC Mineral Partnership information session set down for August 21 is another sign that the US are hellbent on getting their mitts on DRC minerals as agreed.

Kobold have been given the green light by Felix to proceed with Roche Dure if AVZ is left in the rear view mirror. All we are waiting on is an agreed price…a price that reflects
- the AVZ investment so far
- the lost future earnings of our 75% stake in Roche Dure
- the lost future earnings of our 75% stake in CDL that was stolen/swindled by the DRC & the Chinese
- the lost future earnings of the 15% stake in Manono under the right of first refusal deal we held that the Zijin crooks illegally acquired from Cominiere
- accrued awards handed down by the international courts to date
- payment to Dathomir of the $20million stolen from the Rawbank escrow account due to the DRC’s blind-eye turning to the most basic of financial oversight obligations
- coverage of AVZ legal fees incurred due to the criminal withholding of the issue of our legally-obtained mining permit
- compensation for lost earnings as we’d have been mining & selling lithium by now but for the Chinese-sponsored DRC corruption of the past few years

These are the dollars Kobold need to come up with, minus a small-medium goodwill discount for getting AVZ the hell away from the DRC & the Chinese.

This information session has “experts” on hand from the DRC & the US who are there to answer questions on all aspects of the US-DRC Mineral Partnership, including questions about such topics as existing flaws in the DRC regulatory framework & potential joint US-DRC investment opportunities. There is a link to fire in questions to the panel, & I’d encourage holders to send in pointed but respectful questions about the poor treatment of AVZ & questions about a progress update on the Kobold buyout of AVZ’s Manono interests.

The US has already made huge strides holding up their part of the deal. They have already been free in highlighting concerns about DRC corruption, & I think the US panel members will be under strict instructions to grandstand about what the US will take the DRC from, & what they plan to turn it into as far as tolerance for corruption is concerned.

Never lose sight of where we were just a few months back (all our eggs in the ICSID/ICC basket), & all that has gone on in the intervening period. And even just a few months earlier, before Locke or CATL funding news, to when even financing our international court cases looked grim. Plenty has happened in a hurry, & knowing how the Don likes not to cock around fixing things, & knowing how he desperately needs a political win, this information session may well see an announcement about a Kobold syndicate buyout of AVZ.

Make it happen Don.

GLTAH, & a huge thanks to those keeping the trolls in line - it really is tedious work.
