I reckon the anchorman is also applying for a one way ticket economy class to HC, so he can continue to sing a duet with the tool and spread their gospel there.

His contribution here is one big fat zero.

Chat GPT Q1.
Here’s the quick take on the Kalemie–Manono road in DR Congo (Tanganyika province):
  • What/where: A ~446 km road link tying Kalemie on Lake Tanganyika to Manono via Nyunzu, on corridors RN5/RN33. It opens the Manono interior (notably mining zones) to the lake port at Kalemie and the Central Corridor to Tanzania. kin24h.info+1
  • Project status: Full rehabilitation/modernisation kicked off on 28 Oct 2024, with an expected five-year programme. Provincial and national agencies launched works from Kalemie; progress updates continued into early 2025. Radio Okapi+3acgt.cd+3DEC-RDC+3
  • Delivery setup: Government oversight via ACGT (Agence Congolaise des Grands Travaux) and APCSC; financed through a ~US$534–537 m PPP led by the Phaepon consortium. Work packages include an ~11 m platform, a major bridge, and toll stations; section contractors include CREC 7 and Qiao-Yang. acp.cd+2eng.fatshimetrie.org+2
  • Why it matters: Eases movement of people and goods, especially minerals from the Manono area, strengthens DRC–Tanzania trade via the Central Corridor, and reduces isolation of Tanganyika’s territories. Central Corridor TTFA
  • Road condition/history: Historically severely degraded and often seasonal, with earlier attempts under the Sino-Congolese Programme covering Lwambo–Mitwaba–Manono–Kalemie segments. Rainy-season access remains a challenge during works.

Chat GPT Q2.
Has this road come up in any of AVZ minerals logistical planning?

Short answer: indirectly, yes—AVZ’s logistics planning has long included an “eastern route” that takes product from Manono by road to Kabondo-Dianda (railhead), then by SNCC rail to Kalemie, barge across Lake Tanganyika to Kigoma (TZ), and rail to Dar es Salaam. That plan doesn’t name the Kalemie–Manono road as a primary haul route; AVZ focused on upgrading Manono→Kabondo-Dianda roads and using rail + lake for the Kalemie leg. But the 2024–2025 rehab of the Kalemie–Manono corridor would materially complement that eastern route. Central Corridor TTFA+4Minedocs+4Annual Reports+4

A few anchors in AVZ materials and third-party logistics sources:
  • DFS (Apr 2020): models two export routes (Dar es Salaam and Lobito); capex explicitly includes “Roads (MN→KD …)”—i.e., Manono→Kabondo-Dianda—not a direct Manono→Kalemie road haul. Minedocs
  • 2021 Annual Report / ASX: creation of Nyuki Logistics and securing the Kabondo-Dianda intermodal staging site to move product to Dar es Salaam (and Lobito). Annual Reports+1
  • Route mechanics: from Kabalo/Kabondo-Dianda AVZ’s “eastern route” can go east to Kalemie by SNCC rail, then lake vessels Kalemie→Kigoma, and on the Tanzanian Central Line to Dar—the exact chain the road rehab would strengthen. Rail Forum+1
  • Kalemie–Manono road project (2024): province-backed rebuild of the ~446 km link to Kalemie—useful context for any future re-optimization of AVZ’s eastern logistics. Central Corridor TTFA

So: AVZ didn’t hinge its plan on trucking the whole way Manono→Kalemie, but its documented rail-and-lake “eastern route” runs straight through Kalemie, and the new road works would likely de-risk/expand options for that corridor. If you want, I can trace lot-by-lot sections (road vs rail vs barge) and where each upgrade would shave costs or time for a 700 kt/y SC6 scenario.

If you were about to invest heavily into a lithium mine in Manono you would probably want some assurances by the government around logistics. I think this is probably indicative of the conversations that are happening behind closed doors. "we're keen but how will you address logistics, power, LEGAL, issues surrounding this?" lol

Possibly. This is really besides the point of my post though. It is to highlight that the same lady who a couple of days ago presented DRC-USA investment opportunity in NY, is working towards an objective of providing better infrastructure for Manono lithium mine, very recently.

This is not about Zijin... It's about other investors and showing they're (DRC gov) working on 'providing better infrastructure for Manono lithium mine'. It's not super important just interesting I thought.

You know what else I found interesting, I could have been imagining it or mixed up somewhere, but that AugustCohen4 fella on X congratulated the PM on her presentation making a point to essentially say she nailed it in a room full of 'Very wealthy investors', I think there may have even been some companies tagged in it but it might have been someone else in the thread... General Motors, Exxon Mobil, etc... Manono front and centre of that discussion, no doubt... Now the post is gone or I lost it somewhere.

Sorry for interjecting here fellas, I’m actually a little bored and intend to delete this post anyway. I just thought you might like some visuals for your posts

This one shows how good the DRC are at building infrastructure 👇

And these one’s show Zijin handing out cash to bribe the locals 👇

While I agree the Lobito Corridor is the most likely export route for America and Europe Trump's minerals for security deal has been said to involve minerals from DRC being processed in Rwanda. This would require the Manono to Kalemie road rehabilitation.

Also welcome back everyone. I missed the lot of you.
