AVZ Discussion 2022

Pretty sure Zijin developed the three areas shown below around CD. The area in the middle on the eastern most part borders 4029 and you can see in the last photo where their construction meets the border

To me it looks like ZiJin is extracting from the tailings (#13698) for their announced start in Q2 ...

Looks to me as though they're using the tailings as aggregate for the road surface. I can't say for certain and perhaps it's an absurd suggestion (I don't know the properties of the tailings), but having spent a lot of hours looking over aerials of the DRC, mapping roads and rail, I can say a similar pattern appears all over the country. Unpaved roads need ongoing maintenance and must be built up so that water will run off. They scrape material from nearby areas wherever the material is suitable.

My memory is a bit foggy on this but some years ago there was an interview with AVZ staff holding the fort at Manono. During the interview a Chinese bulldozer attempted to enter our site and was turned back. The operator claimed to be trying to get material for road maintenance. Again, my memory is foggy on this so take it or leave it.

I should add that our interpretations are not mutually exclusive. The road goes straight to the tailings so we could both be accurate.

Didn't Klaus have some connection to the tailings? Aside from them both being a waste product I mean.

He was also involved with the scam to steal our northern section, claimed a finders fee if I recall. Perhaps it makes sense for the criminals to start with the tailings owned by their associates while the ownership of our north is contested in the international courts.

Most shareholders got an email or letter over the last week explaining everything. Obviously you aren't in that group.

I've been a shareholder for so long that they sent me a fax instead of an email

There might be a reason for that.

probably same reason your dog has diabetes and you spend a $100 per week for peanut butter.

This was the Tantalex report on the tailings

Or for 421 pages of detail by Tantalex, there’s this

The article (linked below) has good information, including studies carried out by (KoBold linked) Bloomberg showing how cheap it is to process minerals at Manono 👇

An ECA commissioned study was carried out by BloombergNEF and financed by several donors, including the AfDB, to assess the DRC’s potential to attract investment for battery minerals development. It discovered that installing a plant that could process 10,000 tons of minerals per year (cobalt, lithium, manganese, nickel and copper) would cost $117m in the US, $112m in China, $65m in Poland and only $39m in the DRC. In other words, the cost is almost three times less in the DRC than in China and half as in Poland.
