He thought he had "messed up" when the postman handed him 1,700 letters from the tax office. In fact, the man had wanted to apply for Elster access online on the weekend of the time change at the end of October. Due to the time change and a technical error, his access letter got caught in a "time loop" and was printed out and sent 1,700 times, explained the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Finance.
