Just figured out that you can Search for a Keyword in the Youtube Transcript.

Then you can click on it and to move to that spot in the video.

It makes it so much easier finding something you heard somewhere during a 2-hour video. Quick find, rather than listening again and waiting. You can also Toggle on or off the time stamps in the transcript, which makes it more readable and cut-n-paste paragraphs without time stamps and tabs.

Renesas Electronics has launched its first development kit that includes support for the new Matter protocol at CES 2023.

The company will also support Matter on all future WiFi, Bluetooth Low-Energy (BLE) and IEEE 802.15.4 (Thread) products, including products from recently acquired Dialog Semiconductor and Celeno Communications.

Matter is an application layer protocol that abstracts the underlying connectivity technologies such as WiFi, Thread and Bluetooth LE. It aims to provide interoperability for smart home devices with secure connections regardless of the manufacturer.
Using a common software stack allows device manufacturers to support various smart home ecosystems and voice services. Smart home users will be able to buy any Matter-certified device regardless of their platform of choice.

The first Renesas product supporting the Matter protocol is the DA16200 Ultra-Low Power WiFi Modules Development Kit which provides year-plus battery life for always-connected WiFi IoT devices.
The DA16200 also supports Renesas Quick Connect IoT through the Ultra Low Power WiFi Pmod Board. It is fully integrated into Renesas’ e2 studio for easy system development.

• FreeRTOS port to Dialog’s low power WiFi chip
• WiFi SoC is ultra-low power

The move is significant as Renesas has more than a decade of experience in Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi and has shipped over 600m devices.

Connectivity Standards Alliance​

“We’re delighted to see an IoT leader such as Renesas commit to supporting the Matter standard. It’s another indication of the positive momentum the standard is generating across both device and equipment makers,” said Chris LaPre, Head of Technology at the Connectivity Standards Alliance, which formalised the Matter 1.0 specification in December.
“As the embedded processing leader, connectivity is a critical part of our IoT solutions,” said Sean McGrath, Vice President of the Connectivity and Audio Business Division in Renesas’ IoT, Industrial and Infrastructure Business Unit. “With our broad range of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi solutions, and Thread products in development, we’re well positioned to take advantage of the Matter standard in a variety of applications working with customers worldwide.”
Renesas is sampling the DA16200 Development Kit with Matter support to lead customers now and expects to release it broadly by the end of this quarter.

Howdy Brain Fam,

I've been keeping a bit of a low profile today because I discovered a phantasmagorical Mohito recipe last night and have been suffering the consequences of my reckless abandon and exuberant over-indulgence today.

So with that said, I'll try to make this as coherent as possible. Remember back in November 2022, Nils Shanz, was appointed Chief Product Officer at Cerence. Well, it just so happens that before that, Nils was responsible for user interaction and voice control at Mercedes and he worked on the Vision EQXX voice control system (which, needless to say is five to ten times MORE EFFICIENT than conventional voice control systems thanks to BrainChip's AKIDA).

Well, Nils Shanz is cited in the first recent Cerence announcement linked below. And the second recent announcement refers to Native Voice. bAck in December 2022, Chris Smith liked a post that John Goscha (Founder of Native Voice) made about Native Voice being chosen by iHeart Media to build the voice Assistant for iHeartRadio Audio Content.

What all of this means is anyone's guess but between you, me and the lamp post, I would't be at all surprised if we're involved in some of this action whether directly or indirectly IMO.

I was going to underline some of the interesting bits but my eyesight is still a bit bung, so please accept my sincere apologies and don't forget to drink responsibly unlike yours truly.

So, the 4C should be in, in a fortnight, and it's hard to expect any significant business development before then, as only renesas and megachips have licensed our ip.

I don't think we are doing enough to force Renesas' hand to use our IP. It would be hard to see renesas not producing a publicly available chip with akida ip if they have a client asking for one. They have only ever doubled down on their own DRP AI solution, and have even bought out whole software companies to get it to work (reality.ip).

I don't see that we have an infinite amount of time to land a deal. What we need is very very simple. A three way deal with a sensor maker, and megachips and us to produce a product that can be purchased. In the mean time Renesas are screwing us just as Edison stuffed Tesla and it's high time we sent them their invoice, collected the money and phoned megachips. If renesas can not show BRN a timeline for sale of chips with akida it's time to take them on.
