Ive noticed alot of BRN holders bagging Tesla and their FSD, but "SERIOUSLY" just watch this 20min video and note how often the "passenger"
haha , driver actually touches the steering wheel to let the Ai know that he is paying attention.
Dont get me wrong, i too believe that Akida will be a significent player in ADAS but to even think that other OEMs have any real competition against Tesla at this point in time IMO is hillarious.

It's pretty boring without Mr Facty though, which BTW definitely isn't meant as an insult to any of the many other awesome contributors we have here who post
incredible information - I love youse. But just saying... OK... back to the naughty corner I go.

SPIRAL BLUE EDGE COMPUTER GOES TO WORK IN SPACE

APR 3
Screenshot-2023-03-29-171849-600x300.png

Edge computer manufacturer Spiral Blue has announced that the commissioning of their Space Edge One computer (SE-1, pictured) has made it the first Australian Space Edge computer to become operational in space.
SE-1 is the most powerful computer ever built for use in space outside of a space station, boasting the capability to process massive amounts of data in real-time using cutting edge AI technology.
Edge computing allows customers to conduct quick and efficient data analysis close to where it is produced – in this case in space – reducing the bandwidth needed to broadcast data to Earth.
Spiral Blue CEO Taofiq Huq said: “After many years and multiple launches, we’ve finally got operational data back from space for one of our missions.
“This is a huge milestone for Spiral Blue as a space company and a validation of the massive effort that our team has put into Space Edge Computing over the years.”
SE-1 is now capable of processing data in space at quantities and speeds never seen before at such a low size, weight and power, according to the company.
“This new level of computing power will provide customers with faster and more accurate insights into satellite data, allowing for better decision making and increased productivity by enabling the use of AI in space.
“Spiral Blue’s SE-1 is unique in that it enables customers to run their existing code in space without the need for a compiler, resulting in faster time to orbit than ever before.”
The SE-1 is also the first Xavier NX in space, providing high performance and low power consumption.
The NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX module is considered to be the smallest AI supercomputer in the world for embedded and edge systems.
Spiral Blue proprietary machine learning applications optimised to run on the Space Edge Computer include, Vessel Detect, Cloud Clipper, Canopy Mapper, Fire Severity and Water Body Mapper.
This is the fourth Spiral Blue Space Edge Computer, and first Space Edge One launched thus far. Spiral Blue has previously launched 3 Space Edge Zero prototypes in space.
Spiral Blue is also working with other space hardware manufacturers through an Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre Commercialisation Grant.
This grant is supporting Spiral Blue’s Rainbow Python mission, an integrated hyperspectral imaging and edge computing platform.

Really interesting Rocket. Thanks for putting up.
Reminded me of passages from PVDM's book where he is talking about the nature of limited intelligence, its subsections and how, because our experience has been confined to human and some other animal intelligence's thus far, we tend to anthropomorphise contacts we may have experienced and falsely attribute human level interactions when they are actually only simulacrums or clever and very limited mimicry based on a sufficiently large dataset so as to fool us some of the time.
It's like the dragon in Game of Thrones.
Watched in context it is very convincing but all of the energy, effort and the combination of skill sets combined to create those few magical seconds of 2 dimensional trickery really only work because we volitionally surrender our disbelief and actively allow ourselves to engage and willingly participate in the illusion.
The speed and commanding nature with which programs such as the Chat GPTx's enunciate it's answers easily allow us to convince ourselves of it's almost God like ability and authority and assumed intellectual rigour when in actual fact similar models are routinely tricked when trying to discern between a fire truck and a truck fire.
Definitely worth a 15 minute listen, imo. 🤣

I've been playing around with the self driving, and yes on the screen it says touch the wheel to let the car know you are still there basically. I have been using it more often as it is actually quite helpful. Personally I just listen to music and tap the wheel in rhythm and then just twitch the wheel. Its a safety feature. on the highway its a very comfortable drive. I was watching the golf on foxtel on my trip to Melbourne today and it was easy on the highway. As soon as the traffic got busier I turned it off and concentrated. Its actually a brilliant car IMO.

In saying that, it's all I know currently.

Sounds amazing.
I'm still getting used to and learning limited trust for the adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and haptic cues my year old Hyundai (purchased courtesy BRN, thank you very much) is capable of. 🤣
After learning to drive in a manual EH panel van and on greasy, unreliable and calf searing motorbikes (when I was half stonkerred), more than 45 years ago, and having happily driven all sorts of dumb vehicles ever since.
Learning and being gradually converted to the pleasures of auto transmissions, power steering, air con, reliable motors and brakes and ever increasing electrification and mod cons like smart lights, self adjusting comfortable seats and innumerable improvements in passenger safety as well as communications and entertainment features I'm ready to step up to the next level.
And fully expecting BRN will be paying for that too, thank you very much! 🤣
