Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program embodiments for an improved spiking neural network (SNN) configured to learn and perform unsupervised, semi-supervised, and supervised extraction of features from an input dataset. The base neural network is modified to include supplementary spiking neurons in the Nth or N + 1th layer of the base neural network. Looks like the supplementary spiking neurons are 1002, 1004.

One thing it is designed to do is to adjust the multi-bit weights, so I guess that's why they need the ALU.

Pops up with , Brainchip tapes out Akida1500 article , then locks up and disappears ?????.

I am not a twitter subscriber hence cannot login to see article.

Could get a little spicey today.

I think is a huge milestone for reducing future competition and possible forcing hand of Akida adoption, but I don’t expect any short term benefit or rerating of the SP.

It's been stated before that the board sees value in all patents obviously but not all of them are announcement worthy. It may just be added armour to one already issued.

This patent, which was filed in December 2021, addresses supervised learning, semi-supervised learning, and autonomous learning in multi-bit (4-bit) weights and activations.

Autonomous learning is a significant feature.

Akida 1000 has 4-bit weights and activations, so this must be an alternative improved technique.

The patent provides for alternative ways of recalculating the weights and activations apart from the ALU, but the ALUs are shown at 152 in figure 1.

He has said a lot of things at the 2 AGM's and in podcast's, but seemingly enough imo nothing really seems to eventuate from it ... that's why I suppose the Co is currently in a "Strike One" zone.
