BRN Discussion Ongoing

It's a forum mate, people are shareholders and they may voice there thoughts on here, why have a secret meeting with a select few, ask questions gather information learn from mistakes etc etc, Communication is such a strong thing if used correctly

Mate, striking down the renumeration of management, based solely on the Share Price is not only stupid and entitled, its counterintuitive.
Secondly why in the world do you care how anyone else votes? Is that how you make investment decision, based on people's opinions?
Time to move on, you keep asking the same questions.

Also you've been here since Feb 2022 (begining) so you know why we left the crapper and what this place was created for.
Shouldn't even have to remind you, but it's not for complaining endlessly about management or the shareprice.
The "I hate everything management does - circle jerk" over there is welcoming members new and old.

Another key milestone came at IAA MOBILITY when we unveiled our Concept CLA Class. It represents an entirely new model family, incorporates many learnings from the VISION EQXX and gives an outlook to our upcoming MMA platform. For instance, the 800 V electric drivetrain gives it a range of more than 750 km (466 miles) based on impressive consumption of around 12 kWh/100 km (5.2 mi/kWh).
Welcome to my third and final review of a year that has been marked by key milestones at #MercedesBenz.

It starts back in January, when our DRIVE PILOT system for SAE Level 3 conditionally automated driving was confirmed compliant with state regulations in Nevada. Then in June, it was certified by authorities in the state of California. These milestones made Mercedes-Benz the first car manufacturer with authorisation to introduce an SAE Level 3 system in a standard-production vehicle for use on public freeways in these states. Just a short time ago, the production-ready version of DRIVE PILOT made its on-road debut with a limited fleet of Level 3-equipped EQS Sedans. There are plans for further customer deliveries of DRIVE PILOT-equipped MY2024 EQS Sedan and S-Class models early next year.

Once DRIVE PILOT is activated, drivers can take their hands off the wheel and enjoy secondary activities. And all the time they will be safe in the knowledge that the car is controlling the speed and distance, effortlessly guiding the vehicle within its lane.

As there are some misunderstandings of chip production flying around, just some general information:

Chip manufacturers (foundries) have different production processes. For example a TSMC chip can't be produced at Samsung foundries and vice versa. For preparation of production there needs to be a tape out of the chip first. A silicon wafer has to be made, which is the foundation for a production mask set.
On to Brainchip:
AKD1000 - TSMC chip - ready for mass production on order
AKD1500 - Global Foundries chip - ready for mass production on order
AKD2000 - no tape out yet, estimated costs for the tape out US $ 4-5 Mio

That's the actual state depending on available information.

Mid May does a 18.5 shareprice avoid a second strike ?just asking for a friend
Would a second strike negatively or positively effect the SP?
What would a second strike actually achieve?

Hi Dio,

I have nothing but respect for you and FF. Everything you say is correct and well researched.

I just can't see the incentive for anyone to pay for the design and manufacture their own propriety chip that contains our propriety Aklida IP, which I think is our model.
Surely you agree that we are marketing our IP in the opposite way that others eg Hailo, Syntiant are.
I only conclude that if it is too expensive for BRN to manufacture an Akida 2 chip, and it's too expensive for Renesas, say to manufacture an Akida2 chip for general sale, then perhaps a consortium of interested parties may be the way to go.
Hi Iseki,

I would like to see the chip made available. It is certainly easier and faster to sell the chip and have it in customers hands, but the issue is that the many applications for Akida 2e do not need 256 nodes (1024 NPEs). There is whole spectrum of node requirements, so manufacturing and warehousing all the different chips would be uneconomic at this stage. This is a totally new market, so it would be risky to guesstimate the market size for each size of Akida.

I don't see the need for a consortium as we are working with 50-odd disclosed customers (and N undisclosed customers) to develop individual products, so they must see the incentive to implement the revolutionary technology and take advantage of its adaptability, speed and power efficiency. It takes a long time from drawing board to product.

We know that Akida has a sweet spot for lidar and DVS.

Cyber security is also a great application where quasi-real time response and on chip learning are required.

We know that camera and video images can be converted to spike signals for image processing by Akida.

While Akida is sensor agnostic, there is also a need for model libraries against which the sensor signals can be compared.

Maybe in time, when the company has established positive cash flow, they can address the chip market, but then again, that may be best left to a licencee. That said, ARM, feeling they are missing out on the full benefit of their technology, has been talking about going into chip making, so it is something to think about, but not at present for BRN.

Is this supposed to be a joke?

I remember over the Xmas period when renesas was announced shareholders had left their sells in and bit by bit over the festive period they were gobbled up. Then the silly shareholders came back from festive break they were like what the f..k happened someone stole my shares.
Sorry they didn't you left them out there.

Everyday that passes is everyday closer.

Not sure what it is but got a positive vibe today now that all the shannigans have passed.

Happy Friday 🍻🍻🥂

I think that once LDA is finished with the raise to meet the 2.7 million then the pressure will come off and we will churn back up about on speculation until some valuable news.

You can't say there is nothing happening the wait has made many walk away. To be honest the industry is only starting to look at SNN seriously in 2023. More and more happening so this should be positive.

Yes, I agree that there are great use cases for Akida. But we need a path to production. eg if, after talking with all our partners, there is a maximum demand for one particular version of the Akida2000 chip, spread out over multiple partners, and these partners are each prepared to put in pre-orders, then maybe Brainchip should also pay for some of these chips to make the production worthwhile and cost effective for all?

In this way we would be steering in between selling only IP, or selling only chips.
