Thanks @IloveLamp and @Patient.
Will be great to see the tip of the iceberg, if you will, of TATA's plans.
I fully believe it's more than just one or two offerings and bleeds into TATA as a whole.

Edit: Interesting that Microchip isn't there - I guess its because partnership is a specific arrangement (not collab, customer etc)

this NVISO logo is from NVISO.eu, not NVISO.ai (the one we already know)…so it maybe we have another European partner in the cybersecurity space.

Nice pick up B.

The logo is different to the NVISO AI we work with.

From memory this group was also discussed way back when the original NVISO partnership came up and was a bit of confusion then.

Trusting we have a new partnership and posted the right logo on this release and haven't made an error?

Hahaha good on you.
I did the same thing leading up to last year's CES and got absolutely smashed not long after. Here we are at 5 year low for now (until next year CES at least).

This years CES seems so much more promising than the last.

5 year low is a bit dramatic don't you think, more like 3 and a half years.

I am not expecting anything 'huge' to come out of the CES.
I am expecting however that it will be increasingly obvious that some of our bigger partners eg Tata are becoming closer and they want to be ready when Edge demand takes off.
The reason some of bigger partners and those who allow our product to be 'embedded' is because they understand the Edge is near.

Yep...would suggest they used the wrong logo

The link in our blurb takes you to the NVISO we already partnered with in the HMI environment whereas the other NVISO is cybersecurity.

These are the logos I recall from our existing partner. At least they are spelt right :ROFLMAO:

Unfortunately wrong logo and company.
The blurb it links to if you click on it notes Virpi Pennanen, CEO of NVISO Group and that is the Nviso group we are all aware of.
The Nviso.eu is a totally different company of which Virpi Pennanen is not CEO.

I have emailed JPR communications so hopefully that is the correct person to fix the error.

Hi DingoBorat,

I agree that the Dev Kits are not targeted at hobbyists - however, the Mini PCIe Board, which is only ~ 1/10th of the price of a Raspberry Pi Development Kit, but still sets you back US$499, was intended ā€œfor anyone from hobbyists to companies who wants [sic!] to just plug 10 boards in for specific applications, all the way through to licensing IPā€, according to Rob Telson in the January 2022 interview with Sally Ward-Foxton:

Erm, yes, it does. He literally writes ā€œWe build and test a technically simple prototype of the proposed physical RC system employing an inexpensive Arduino microcontrollerā€. How else could he have written his paper? šŸ¤”
So he obviously knows exactly how much money it cost them to build the prototype.

The way I see it, this research is not about commercialising a product and pitting it against the ā€œcompetitionā€ such as Brainchip (which was just an example to put the prototype’s inexpensiveness in relation to commercially available neuromorphic hardware), but a life hack for researchers on a tight budget, so to speak. If a US$50 AKD1000 USB stick had been available, he might have gladly picked that one instead of the Arduino microcontroller, for all we know.
Lots of academic research is fundamental research, which aims to improve humans’ understanding of the natural world - primarily the pursuit of knowledge for more knowledge.
But maybe my cursory glance at the paper missed the part where he expressed his intention to commercialise the prototype. Did you spot any evidence of that?

Note that he doesn’t consider his prototype a panacea: ā€œā€¦ we argue that in certain practical situations the efficacy of the physical RC system may exceed the one of optimised machine learning software run on a high-performance workstation.ā€

And while it is admittedly embarrassing for the preprint’s author holding a PhD in Electrical Engineering to also have gotten the Akida Dev Kit’s power consumption wrong (thank’s for explaining, @Diogenese!), to me this error still doesn’t alter the result of his cost comparison (see my prior post on that matter), as his prototype is very low-power itself - the entire experimental setup apparently consumes less than 1 W.

Yep, looks like it. 😊
Personally I think his "Electrical Engineering degree" is good for one thing, next time he runs out..

You say it's "Embarrassing" that he also got the power consumption figures wrong?
He's either an idiot, or was being intentionally misleading.

A "prototype" is not a "product" in my opinion.

But I think we're done here.

Deadpool

Did someone say KFC
Just a comment on the state of play.

The evolution of flight i.e. Wright Bros "The Flyer" to 100 years on, SOTA, Space X "Falcon Heavy"
The exponential evolutionary growth of BRN has only taken 10 years, from the idea of Peter and with the help of the very talented team of brilliant individuals at Brainchip to becoming at present the front runner of the most mind blowing, super efficient, SNN computation that has ever been put to silicon.
Now with the ever increasing collaborations and partnerships, with some of the most visionary company's in the world that have come on board the BRN bus, CES 24 is looking at being our most defining moment in the history of the company.

With so much talent in the ever increasing ecosystem of partners the Singularity (AGi) may be just around the corner.

Suggestion.

Maybe before releasing anything BRN should send TSE a copy first as a pre release so we can vet and approve :ROFLMAO:
