The CEO of Magnis Energy said they were in the running for some grants, Here’s a significant one that went to the uni that has ties to the iM3NY plant. Maybe some of this is destined to improving Magnis’s products.

Big day for Broome County: Binghamton University awarded $63.7M in Build Back Better funds

Binghamton Distinguished Professor Stanley Whittingham won the 2019 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry for his role in lithium-ion battery research, and the university’s research helped launch a local battery manufacturer, iM3NY, that is opening a gigafactory in Endicott’s Huron Campus, once home to IBM”

I just briefly bring you this article:

"Magnis seeks court order to reveal hotcrapper users’ identities

ASX-listed battery manufacturing group Magnis Energy Technologies has lodged a federal court application demanding penny stock message board hotcrapper disclose the identity of 15 anonymous posters it believes disparaged the company.
The July 22 application against hotcrapper operator Report Card Pty Ltd seeks an order to force hotcrapper to disclose the full name and address of each poster in addition to email addresses, any internet protocol (IP) address, the internet service provider, and any social media accounts linked to the hotcrapper accounts.

Magnis refused to comment on the court application, although it’s believed the company is furious over what it sees as a series of malicious and false statements anonymously posted to hotcrapper message boards about Magnis’ management and operating performance.
Some posters named in the court application use anonymous hotcrapper accounts, including Mondrian, Fritzl, Clare69, Rat1973, Sunrock, and Johnyb26. *****************, parent company of hotcrapper, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
According to court documents, the lawyer for hotcrapper operator Report Card agreed to provide the identification details of the posters in compliance with any court order. However, by July 22, K&L Gates, the lawyers for Magnis, sent further correspondence reiterating the identification request and putting Report Card on notice.

Magnis’ chairman Frank Poullas is named as an applicant in the court request as seeking to pursue a defamation claim.
Australian Securities and Investments Commission has previously made inquiries with Magnis over the trading of its shares. In November 2021, the company issued an ASX statement in response to media coverage denying it was being investigated by ASIC, but conceded inquiries had been made.
The battery tech play reached a share price high of 73¢ on a market value of around $714 million on December 11 as retail investor enthusiasm for anything associated with lithium or electric vehicles peaked, but the stock had crashed back to 31¢ on Wednesday.
Magnis owns New York-based company Imperium3, which it says operates a lithium-ion battery manufacturing project. For the nine months to March 31, it reported zero revenue and an operating cash loss of $17.9 million. Investing cash outflows totalled $23.6 million, with the company reporting cash on hand of $81.8 million as at March 31.

Nowhere to hide

In June 2019 penny stock mining company Flinders Mines successfully obtained an order from the Supreme Court of Western Australia to force hotcrapper to disclose the identity of individual posters on the basis the posters had made allegedly defamatory comments against Flinders Mines stakeholders.

The case highlighted that hotcrapper’s terms and conditions contained provisions that stated it would maintain information about each user’s real identity.

On June 7 ASIC announced Gabriel Govinda, a hotcrapper poster using anonymous online identity Fibonarchery, had pleaded guilty to 23 charges of unrelated stock manipulation and 19 charges of illegal dissemination of information relating to manipulation.

ASIC said the charges were in relation to hotcrapper posts and Mr Govinda now faces a maximum penalty of 10 years’ jail, alongside a fine up to $765,000.

On June 5, the Federal Court of Australia ordered Twitter to disclose the identity of anonymous account @PRGuy17 so Melbourne-based social commentator Avi Yemini could pursue a defamation action against him.

While former NSW deputy premier John Barilaro was awarded $715,000 on June 6 in defamation damages from YouTube-owner Google, after a user named Jordan Shanks posted multiple videos defaming Mr Barilaro.

The case saw Justice Steven Rares reject Google’s arguments that it should not be liable as a publisher because it did not create the content. Legal commentators have suggested both Google and Twitter will now move faster to censor user content in Australia.

Does anyone know what ever happened WRT this Shitstorm involving blatant downramping on the crapper?

Where the real identities ever revealed?

Did anyone ever get prosecuted?

The Australian Anti-trolling bill (https://www.ag.gov.au/legal-system/social-media-anti-trolling-bill) should make revealing the true identities a matter of course.

This bill seems to protect the service provider (in this case hot crapper) and make the individual personally liable. But then, if these individuals are acting on behalf of Hot Crapper, maybe in the role of moderator as employees, then the liability does also shift to Hot Crapper.

There are some pretty despicable people in the world who will stop at nothing to aid their own agendas.

Wouldn‘t the world be a nice place without that kind of shit!
We should just protect this beautiful place TSE and stick together. And not exaggerate like I did. I described relatively briefly for my circumstances what is going on geopolitically and soberly factual but clear and determined. I deleted the post after a few hours because I felt that it causes discomfort. I should not add fuel to the fire but focus on what is important - our community and our favorite stocks.

A forum is all about different opinions. We are pretty good at respecting the opinions of others in the Magnis and Talga groups. :) But yes some, in other groups, see any opinion that differs from their own as down ramping. Please continue to share your opinions, I might not agree with some of them, but I also will not flame you publicly if I disagree. I’ll take that to a private chat, as I have done in the past.

I like the advice posted by @stuart888 of soft writing style and sticking to one point. I will try to do that myself.

A huge problem with the written word is that it is ALL THERE IS. In real life we get so many cues from body language, tone, inflexion, etc. so we need to be aware of any emotive words as they will be taken on face value. They don‘t even need to be emotive!

Regular
ASX Investor interview.
Was not familiar with this share before but might take a close look.
Seem kind of serendipitous as I was pondering getting into an energy storage player.

iM3NY posted the following on Linked in this morning. They are not giving away the identities of their customers but it is very pleasing to see they have several 3-5 year contracts and binding agreements that are more than double the current market cap of Magnis Energy.

NOTE: Magnis Energy owns 60% of iM3NY

Magnis Energy CEO David Taylor presented at Benchmark Mineral Intelligence's #GigaAPAC Leadership panel: 'The Rise of the Gigafactories in Asia Pacific'. Wednesday 28 September 10:30am-12:00pm, at the Ritz Carlton in Perth.

I like the idea of spreading the word, and hope some Australian investors will take notice. Magnis has its iM3NY plant in New York and does talk of creating many more, as the demand dictates. It would be fantastic to see Magnis Energy create a gigafactory in Australia.

Magnis Energy released an update on their pilot plant and plans for the future of their Anode Active Material (AAM) manufacturing process.

Lithium-Ion Battery Anode Active Material Manufacturing Plant

Magnis claim their Anode Active Material manufacturing plant is green and, because of special qualities enabled by the graphite sourced from their Nachu Mine, produces higher quality product than competitors with no need for chemical or thermal purification.

Vertically integrated with their C4V battery technology, this will result in superior batteries.

The Nachu Graphite project in Tanzania has sussessfully completed its Bankable Feasibility Statement (BFS), so should be a going concern from here.

Magnis is in advanced discussions with several potential offtake partners to produce and supply AAM.

Imperium 3 New York (iM3NY), which recently commenced using Magnis AAM in the commercial production of Lithium-ion battery cells at its Gigafactory facility in New York.

Trading halt today (Mon 20th of Feb), but this looks like one of those good trading halts, oh how rare they are. And at least we shouldn‘t have to wait too long for the announcement (only today max).

Request for Trading Halt
Magnis Energy Technologies Ltd ACN 115 111 763 (ASX: MNS) (Company) requests an immediate trading halt be applied to its securities and in this regard provides the following
information to ASX in accordance with Listing Rule 17.1:
• the Company requests the trading halt a material transaction, the signed agreement for which was received from the counterparty over the weekend;
• the Company requests that the trading halt applied to its securities continue until the earlier of the making of an announcement in relation to the proposed material transaction and the commencement of trading on 21, February 2023;
• the Company is not aware of any reason why the requested trading halt should not be granted by ASX

They need to put a little more effort into the titles they give to their announcements. So many people only skim the titles.

How much better would
Magnis Signs Offtake Agreement with Tesla for North American Anode Active Material Production

or even
Tesla Signs Offtake Agreement to Receive North American Anode Active Material from Magnis

have been received?

IM3NY supercharging growth

An exciting announcement out of Senator Schumer's office this morning as he talks about growth plans for iM3NY: The Senate Majority Leader is supporting the company's goal to produce 38 GWh per year by the end of the decade.

Interesting action in the OTC markets overnight. I can’t find any news substantiating the doubling of shareprice in one trading day but I like the look of the action. Volume is low but still 3 times the average, and it is NOT just from one single purchase.

I’m keenly waiting on Magnis to publish required annuaL accounts so they can re-start trading on the ASX. Hopefully this price action translates across here.
