What’s the latest Betmakers’ news from Monmouth Park?

When is Betmakers planning to release an app supporting NJ fixed odds betting?

How does Monmouth’s 4NJBETS/TVG partnership affect Betmakers’ plans?

Anyone know what’s going on with fixed odds at Monmouth Park? It looks like the www.Monmouthbets.com website that had been offering fixed odds has been decommissioned. Monmouth is advertising only on track fixed odds.

Mine opens up, no problems.
Only thing its not showing FO, I think you need to be logged in to get that access but not sure.
Maybe someone can elaborate who have joined up.
Other than that ,it looks like any other corporates betting site.

Yeah, I was able to get past the blank white error screen by using a vpn server based in Newark. Apparently I needed to adjust windows location settings and install Xpoint location software to continue. I might try that on the weekend.

Sounds like a job for 🦸‍♂️
Mine works on Google and Edge fine.
It would be nice to see them get some traction on the dite but I think it will take much longer than anticipated to change the thinking of the Horsemen's Association, who seem to be the major stumbling block
Best to focus on the other ventures and drive revenue there.

I wonder when they will add more NJ tracks? OK saw this was in an article posted on the crapper:
In addition to the Monmouth races, fixed odds bets on Delaware Park, Hawthorne, Emerald Downs, Century Downs, Canterbury Park and FanDuel Racing will be available this year and an agreement that would make bets on Parx available could be wrapped up shortly.

That’s interesting, but of greater interest is knowing when they’ll license fixed odds to other operators in New Jersey. What happened to their 2020 deal with Pointsbet to deliver fixed odds in NJ? Or are they restricted to one website and one app?

I'm pretty sure MJ only has Monmouth as a dedicated Thoroughbred Track with Meadowlands and Freemont being Trotting and Harness.
There is a deal where Monmouth "rents" Meadowlands at the completion of Monmouth's Calendar, for a short stint, and runs thoroughbred races.

What you really want is for our app to provide FO from all over the globe, same as what we have here.

The big obstacle in the US is the different age requirements for Horse Betting and Sports Betting.
I think you can be 18 to bet on horses but you have to be 21 to bet on their Sports Apps, so the multi leg multis all the young punters get on to here, that take in both, cant work over there unless they can sort out the age restriction obstacle.

Surely when registering you put your age in and the app serves you whats appropriate - doesn't sound like a very difficult problem but maybe there is more to it than just filtering based on age.

Its the Multis that cause the issue, when you tie in horse racing with sports like NFL or NBA.
The multis is what drives the young punters

Surely though you just wouldnt be able to do it with what you're not allowed to bet on individually.
I can see how it might be quite a bit of work maintaining that for 50 states eventually.

100% correct!
The Establishment, as you call them, wont change anytime soon so I am at a loss how BET breaks down this barrier.
I think bend with the wind and regroup is the way to go and hopefully we can go hard again once more of "us" gets on these boards and associations than the "them".
Be flexible and mold your product to suit the current market.

My suggestion,,,,,don't let Tripp anywhere near it!😂😂😂

Rhino, how does it scale? Can BET provide FO to other operators in NJ (e.g. Pointsbet)? If not why not?

Let's see how the App performs during the Monmouth Racing Season.
My understanding is that on track ,you can bet all year round even when there's np racing, bit like we can do at Randwick ,for those in Sydney.
I think having the App makes it easier for NJ residents, its all about educating the punter.
If it is easy to use and offers the right odds it should be a winner.
I suggest one of the other punters on here may be able to answer your question in more detail, perhaps Reg if he reads this?

I would be very surprised if they haven't built an API to provide it to others, or at least have it on the roadmap.

Are they allowed to provide it to others?

Thats generally what APIs are for. I have no idea about the compliance in NJ though and what has been allowed under the FO laws passed. Reg might know that.
Given that partnerships were announced with Pointsbet I guess its their goal though.

Cheers Larry. I’m not concerned with the technology (e.g. apis). A bigger issue is what they’re able to do considering licensing/regulatory constraints.

It is curious that nothing has come of the 2020 Pointsbet agreement.
