"The legal dispute over the Manono lithium project, one of the world’s largest lithium deposits, has taken another turn. According to reliable sources at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the arbitration proceedings initiated by Australian mining company AVZ Minerals and its affiliates against the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have been suspended. This decision follows AVZ’s failure to pay the arbitration fees within the set time limit. If AVZ fails to pay the fees within 90 days, the proceedings will be permanently terminated."
Of course there’s a chance both parties have delayed paying the fees Wombat and for different reasons. AVZ has been working on Locke’s litigation funding and the fact they haven’t announced the details of the deal yet means there’s a lot things they have to take into account.
DLA Piper is one of the top law firms in the world, they have stood by us from the beginning and are no doubt involved in the Locke funding arrangements and part of that I imagine would be making sure they get paid.
As always, people here jump to conclusions and you’ve got the negative posters continually posting comments that undermine all the work AVZ has done so far in fighting the corruption.
Mate I’m just glad I’m not going to war with some of those posters with their negative undertones. I know you’re one who has been looking for answers, all I can say is I personally am backing DLA Piper to get us through the Locke funding and the litigation against the corrupt actors and I’m not surprised that it’s being kept confidential
