AVZ Discussion 2022

What I don't understand is, if the government want to kick us out or cancel the contract, why did they put the license back together? And why the change in activ transformation PR in PE again a few days later?
That should have happened straight away after the decrees were revoked but whoever runs the mining cadastre portal is fucking hopeless as we've seen time and again. They cancelled the decrees issuing the exploitation permit hence it is logical that this should revert to the previous exploration status.
Not going to loose any sleep over that one, it seems fairly clear cut.

1/2 Covetousness on the #lithium of #Manono , private people want shares in the projects, ready to use all means to achieve their ends, even to the detriment of the interests of #RDC ? : “non-state actors who intend to illegally acquire, for
them and/or other third parties, interests in the Manono lithium and tin project. The company (@AvzMinerals) fears that the continued activities of its hostile non-state actors will influence the decisions of major players in the mining industry in Africa”

They are stepping up the negative tone to drive home to FT etc just how bad an impact these shenanigans have on business confidence in DRC.

Ultimately, Manono is huge, but DRC ain't gonna be transformed from this project alone. Letting Zijin and partners steal project is BAD for development of DRC. But equally, for DRC to themselves try and now steal back more of the project would be bad for business confidence in DRC. Maybe they get more? Maybe it stalls the project more? But it sure as hell would be another kick in the nuts to anyone else looking for a positive business relationship with the DRC.

Our offer to DRC - throwing in equity in AVZ - is generous enough that I don't think they're going to try and screw more out of us.

All the communications now is about driving home the point that what's holding the project up now isn't just a little administrative confusion or minor quibiling, but straight up shit-fukery from dodgy actors with zero regard for local laws or people. With every TV interview, every article, that becomes a little clearer. Great to hear AVZ calling it out properly, and great to hear embassy(ies) are getting involved.

Yeah I understand that problem with cami.

I'm worried about this parts:

"The Company is concerned that the continued activity of the hostile non-state actors may influence the decisions of the key authorities in DRC in a manner that is contrary to applicable law and materially adverse to the interests of the Company"

"...DRC Government are not leaked prior to resolving the prevailing uncertainty with regards to the mining and exploration rights for the Manono Project."

When i read this i get the thought that our company is not sure if they will lose the project.

materially adverse.. a other german translation is significantly damages. Jesus I think there is only one way of a significantly damage, losing that shit -.-

Or what is your interpretation?
I've posted earlier that this paragraph is a bit concerning but @JNRB makes some good points above. Better that AVZ finally calls this out publicly I'd have to agree.

The Company is receiving further support from the Australian Embassy in Harare whom are engaged with other foreign embassies in the region, whom jointly share a common interest to support investment transparency in Africa’s mining industry.

Assuming one of the other embassies is the US, let the bidding war begin!

Hope those professing “wait, expect the .., and the classic not long now” and all the other lies, I hope you have other vocations to fall back on as you’re fucking awful at trying to talk about AVZ.

Instead of acting like a 4yo, forums are there to share what you know - not make up BS like you’ve done for weeks and pretend you’re on the inside…

Feel like leveling with all of us and tell us what you know?

I guess not, you’re as weak as piss as my generation used to say.

TC.

Adverse does not only include losing the whole project. Could be Dathomir/Zijin being supported with their false claims etc.

Given that the ICC arbitration cases are out of the DRC and we are only facing one real decision from the key authorities in DRC - namely whether to grant us a ML - I think the only realistic interpretation of the above is that the Company believe we may be stripped of our licence and thus lose the Project.

I mean this possibility is nothing we don't already know, but AVZ finally spelling it out in an official announcement suggests to me we're still in troubled waters and are nowhere near certain of a positive outcome.

The fact that discussions are occurring with recently appointed key cabinet ministers is positive. There did not seem to be any progress with the existing ministers. Therefore any change here is good. We don't know if the new ministers may have been exposed to the Chinese influence in relation to this project yet. There may be more chance of progress.

The fact that the recently appointed ministers have been tasked with investigating the purported administrative irregularities with DRC's own mining code and IGF findings is also positive. A new perspective would be good. Can't be worse than Adele Kayinda, therefore I see any new appointments as a new chance/possibility.

Support from Australian and other embassies is also positive. Other Embassies who "share a common interest to support investment transparency in Africa's mining industry". It is good that AVZ appear to be getting some support. Possibly from USA who have a lot of influence and power.

I remember reading articles back when Felix was "elected" that USA basically thought the results were falsified. There were suggestions that USA would be interested in providing "support" etc to help DRC run their elections fairly. USA probably want to ensure China do not get all of RDC's resources. I think they could have an impact. USA are coming down hard on China lately, trying to make it really hard for China to manufacture the latest chips etc. There are restrictions on US workers working for Chinese chip manufacturers. USA is also banning sales of key chips to China. So they are putting things in place to restrict China's progress. Hopefully they provide some assistance with regard to battery metals too.

Is this the Ann Deboss was referring to? Mildly took me by surprise given the social media trail.

And for this shit I did not sleep -.-

the tone has changed from confident of a positive outcome to concerned about the government may act against their own laws and the company.
After 2 months the decrees had been canceled, there is still a prevailing uncertainty about our License.

A few questions raised in my head:

Why are they telling me now about their concerns the drc may act against the laws and the company? Are they trying to prepare me for anything?
Why did we still not know the intentions of the drc after 2 months? Did they have no chance to talk to the MoM to ask?

I don't have a good feeling. In the first moment it looks like they do not make good progress and have not enought support from the important part of the drc government.

What I don't understand is, if the government want to kick us out or cancel the contract, why did they put the license back together? And why the change in activ transformation PR in PE again a few days later?
IMV unfortunately for us patient SHldrs, Ferguson's usually upbeat "she'll be right mate" gung-ho manner has led SHldrs over more recent times to believe that the ML was just a matter of time, it's difficult but it's in hand. It appears however to becoming increasingly clear that he hasn't quite had the ear of those that make the decisions that can affect such a positive outcome, even when taking into account all the shit that has been flying around being exposed, he still appears to be failing to gain favour from the very top of gov.

I also wonder is this now NF paving the way for potential failure in getting the ML, "previously confident".

Let's face it, if he NF is unable after all the corruption that has now been exposed relating to the MOM, MOP and others for all to see Including Felix al Presidente and yet we are still on shaky ground, one has little choice but to wonder what really is Felix's agenda...... maybe it's all just "oh shit I didn't realise my government ministers were dodgy, grubby and unfairly shafting you" oh what am I going to do?......

Your fg job! fix it, stop leaving it to every man and his dog to fix, this total shit show is on your watch, which means it's your responsibility to sort!

Rant over (apol) getting pissed like most at this endless loop of crap. I realise Felix doesn't even know what his ministers are up to, his words of cleaning up corruption are simply empty words/BS and mean as little as mine.
