Yes, yes. You are angry, I am angry… we are all angry.

But, do SH’s really think it would be wise to sling mud at FT when the decision lies with him and those close to him?

Until the decision has been made, try and be precise with your anger. When we clearly don’t know what is going on behind closed doors, don’t speculate and leave us other (sh) open to criticism and give detractors ammo to influence such a critical decision for us.

RDC, along with many developing countries are fiercely patriotic. Don’t turn this into a “neo colonists vs us (RDC)” thing by insulting the head of state.

Secondly, hierarchies are much more apparent than in Australia. We love to sling shit upwards. They have much more respect.

If you keep fighting against the reality of the situation, regardless of whether you like it or not, you’ll do your head in. Be better. Act smarter.
Well I suppose you are a Guru

How much longer are the MoM / President willing to let this play out is the big question ? At some point they have to make a call . To let it drag on makes them look redundant and ineffective and is not in the country's best interest . It's a matter of Urgency . It's holding up the Nation's progress . They want to make Batteries FFS . So the question is not about who gets what . The important question is , when does the President/MoM say enough is enough . It's coming . I hope we are on the right side when it does .

Talk, fukkin talk, fukkin Talk, free lunch in Kong's Hotel, paid for by the people who can't afford a bag of maîs flower and another day wasted in talking. And the dignitaries get fatter, fatter, fatter. I hope they have their insulin with them.

Food crisis in Haut-Katanga: A bag of corn goes from 10 to 45 or even 50 dollars

Things are heating up in the market for basic necessities. Prices are rising, the housewife's basket has been abused.

A 25 kg bag of maize flour that sold for 10 dollars or 22,000 Congolese francs is currently trading at 100,000 or even 115,000 Congolese francs in Lubumbashi, province of Haut-Katanga.

The causes are multiple according to specialists, but the situation is linked to the refusal of the Zambian authorities to import maize to the DRC.

This has led to the scarcity of the product on the market.

Sources report the complexity of the problem with the absence of a food self-sufficiency policy.

Katanga suffers from this lamentable state of affairs.

Corn is becoming increasingly rare in this part of the country.

But on the spot, is the National Service.

Several specialists question the merits of the National Service at a time when Haut-Katanga is facing a food shortage that is difficult to understand.

Also, there is reason to wonder about the efforts of the provincial government to solve the equation.

Governor Kyabula Katwe, who has recently become a specialist in lamentations and too political, has his work cut out for him.

Obviously, reports a source from Actu7.cd based in Lubumbashi, "the provincial authority is more incapable of managing its entity, which is now a breeding ground for insecurity".

It must be said that the echoes in the province of Haut-Katanga are not at all consumable. We kill every day.

So, in addition to famine, Jacques Kyabula must be quite capable of managing issues as serious as famine and insecurity.

Need we remind you that in addition to its minerals, Haut Katanga was the breadbasket of the Republic.

Where did this wealth go? It is up to Katangese politicians to respond.

Could it be the DRC Gov need to wait on the MMSC outcome to ensure when they cut up the Manono pie, it is done once and only once? Would the Gov not want to make 100% they hold the percentage they want and no surprises? All other ICC cases on equity are between AVZ, Zijin and Dathomir, so IMO once ICC ruling is out on MMSC then there should be no reason a final deal can be cut with AVZ. Anything around 80% AVZ and 20% DRC Gov would be a good outcome.

However the reverse may apply to AVZ after agreement struck with Gov, how much of the equity AVZ hold in Dathcom could be at risk from Zijin and Dathcom? One would think very small risk of loosing anything on the Zijin and Dathomir fronts, in fact there should be damages awarded to AVZ IMO, but we are not there yet. 🦊

Agree . So if MoM/ President are serious about getting the Manono Project started then a final decision must be close . It cannot drag on .

One has to wonder about the opportunity cost of letting this get dragged through the courts endlessly. We can assume that some entity, be that a competing mining company, or the DRC gov itself wants their hands on a bigger slice of this. Surely a serious investor would just launch a takeover offer, as opposed to risking a multiple year court case.

Agree with you on this - we are a very expensive pawn (in terms of opportunity cost) in in an election campaign, not only in direct votes for the big ticket effect of the ML but also in protecting the corrupt elements that attract votes. Could be a major shakeup if and when the government is voted in for another term.

Look everyone is angry as fuck but I tend to agree with what's being said about keeping it respectful with DRC ministers.

Yes it SHOULD mean nothing, words on twitter! It is utterly pathetic that words on twitter might govern Policy in the DRC.

But it IS the DRC, they're entrenched in deep corruption, there's multiple factions all wanting more power and money.
They're extremerly sensitive, they're NOT sophisticated in the way the west has been for a long time now.

I expect laws to be followed too, but that's just not really how things happen.
It's fucked as fucked can be!

But what if we really are causing setbacks by calling them all a pack of lying corrupt cunts?

I think CKK is fair game, and Zijin too.

And when it comes to ministers, you can still state that the IGF finds the MoP acted unlawfully.
You can still do it respectfully.
Even the Congolese are shaking their heads at us, saying we don't understand DRC.

Been busy, catching up on posts here & on SM. I may be wrong, but I agree with where I've quoted Azzler above. Nige & BoD are all in, calling CKK & Zijin's bluff, to the ICC. US is increasing influence in DRC Battery Council. Better we don't piss off DRC Govt and officials. IMO. Br, Sparrowhawk.

Fact is a certain percentage of this sh1t cannot be stopped . Anti AVZers use SM as their weapon . It's up to the DRC gov to use some common sense . The only people they should be listening to is Nigel and his team . If it doesn't come from them then it should mean SFA . Fair enough genuine investors could be a little more mindful , but if the DRC gov are considering what is posted on social media by strangers/ impostors as part of their final decision making then it's not going to help us.
