Great to see Peter write a new article.

He's the correct staff member to speak about all this, as is Anil the correct staff member to speak all about chip design.

As I have mentioned before, this "business marriage" has always been a real blessing, they both are great blokes, who
100% complement each other, it's the "real glue" that will hold our company together over the long run.

Get the Strawberries and Ice Cream out, I just wonder how many of the remaining "household names" will finally reveal
themselves over the coming year, one can but hope.

Have a positive day.

Tech x
Gday @TECH
Any thoughts you might like to share with the forum on the LDA Capitol Call ?
Cheers

Just browsing BrainChip website & came across a new blog from 7th Jan titled "4 Bits Are Enough" but it's password protected & we can't read it. Wonder if it will be about benchmarking? Wonder when it will be available?

BRN still had funding for approx 4 qtrs.
The only conclusion I reach is BRN has a new obligation to a new or existing client.
As you said it may be for mass production of a new chip, whatever the chip spec is not important. The fact that the call was made is important and leads to two possible scenarios.
1. If BRN didn't need the money for new client obligations then why would they place the call knowing they have sufficient runway to the end of 2023. By placing the call so early without needing the funds would only see the sp dive. It is highly improbable this is the reason for the call.
2. BRN has a contractual obligation to supply chips to a client and need the funds for production.

My guess is MERC has expanded its use of Akida and are possibly aiming to release the tech earlier then 2025 in the EQXX.

If BRN's production slot with TSCM still exists, I think it will be used very soon.

Either way, A change is gonna come.

... but is it realistic to posit negligible income for 2023?

I think from memory someone has posted before it's designed in such a way so this cannot be reversed engineered... however not 100%
Most likely not able to be reverse engineered, but they would have enough knowledge to determine whether or not it is AKIDA!

Is it realistic to posit potential chip production? Especially given that we’re a now self proclaimed IP company…

I genuinely feel like low revenue is the more likely scenario out of the three here.

Let’s hope it’s for something good, but as a Shareholder, I’m honestly just feeling battered and beaten atm.

I doubt that would be the reason.
BRN still has funding to at least the end of 2023. If funding is not required now why would BRN gift LDA Capital with discounted shares by letting the VWAP of share price slide over the next 3 months.

discounted shares - that’s assuming that by the end of the year the SP will be higher than it currently is and we have enough revenue to continue operating and developing without the need for a cap raise.

If the SP is lower by the end of this year then this might be a savvy move by Sean.

Ying and Yang.

I may have missed it earlier, Diogenese, but what exactly is 'taping-out'?

Hi robsmark,

In the LDA announcement, the company also announced that they will be taping-out a new chip in 2023, and this is an essential and costly precursor to manufacturing a chip.

New chips have to be proven in silicon before they are marketed. The company needs to prove that the IP is functional before licensing it to customers. The Verification engineer job description posted by @stuart888 above calls for verification of IP and hardware, so it looks certain the company is in the throes of producing a new chip.

BTW, I was not so much commenting on your proposition as devil's advocate as on the characterization as reasonable and contributing to balance. Given the flood of partnerships with major chip producers as well as inspired start-ups, I anticipate that there will be a number of new licences taken out during the year, and some of the older licences will begin to generate royalties.

PS: would love to know what features the new chip has ... LSTM, transformer, neural cortex ... ?

Was looking at the Jobs posted on Brainchip's Career page, and maybe there are clues here like the ARM knowledge required.

This position reports to "Director of Digital Design"?

Perhaps it is easy for someone to explain what is going on in each location. I am interested, perhaps others. Sorry if this is common knowledge.

"We have offices in Laguna Hills, California; Toulouse, France; Hyderabad, India; and Perth, Australia."

Maybe I'm way off the Mark here, but I get the feeling that BRN'S AKIDA was not needed. However it feels like all the companies that come across AKIDA are understanding what it can help them achieve so now they're going back to the drawing board and redesigning what they do now they can push their limits much further, thus it's taking time to get this company some revenue. I see it as PDVM has actually reinvented the wheel and so now people are working on products that can utilise the new 'wheel'. PDVM is so far ahead he has had to pull the handbrake and wait for Clients to jump on his ever moving bus. In my youth I taught English and Golf in Japan. Good gig in those days. An ex-sony head (Osaka office) was a student. We would discuss tech and he didn't tell me what, but they had years of tech sitting there waiting to be released, at the right time. I feel Brainchip are at this stage, maybe AKIDA 2000 is waiting in the wings for others to catch up?

https://brainchip.com/brainchip-joi...rate-capabilities-of-akida-powered-solutions/

Bit of a lurker, this post says brainchip is showing solutions with partners prophesee, socionet and VVDN technologies at CES.

I was just wondering if this is the first mention of brainchip partnering with VVDN technologies???

Exciting start of the year for BRN!!
As expected with the NDA, not a peep from VVDN or Brainchip after CES.

Seems like Akida would be exceptional at pattern recognition from 5G products and sensors made in India!

Bravo

If ARM was an arm, BRN would be its biceps💪!
ChatGPT just told me that it's performance could be improved with neuromorphic computing so I think someone should let Rob Telson know ASAP so he can make an appointment with OpenAI and Microsoft to discuss how we can get the ball rolling!
